John Hanley joined Ziegler in 2003. As a managing director, he is responsible for the management of the healthcare practice line. John has more than 20 years of experience in providing comprehensive capital solutions for healthcare providers. John is proficient in structuring tax-exempt and taxable fixed and variable rate obligations, current, advance, and crossover refinancing and implementation of off-balance sheet financings, as well as negotiating and implementing flexible security structures and related debt covenants.
In addition to his extensive capital raising experience, John has advised many healthcare clients with respect to transaction including affiliations, joint ventures, asset sale, and full mergers. He has significant experience in the transaction structuring and valuation of various types of healthcare providers including general acute care hospitals, osteopathic providers, and teaching hospitals.
John also has extensive experience in the structuring of synthetic fixed and variable rate financings through the use of interest rate swaps and other derivative products. He has executed many investment agreements that mitigate the effects of negative arbitrage on invested bond proceeds or monetize the future interest earnings over the life of the invested asset.
Prior to joining Ziegler, John worked for NatCity Investments. He received his B.A. from the University of Detroit in Michigan.
