Matt O’Meara joined the religion and education team at Ziegler in 2010. Since joining this practice, Matt has worked with charter school clients throughout the nation to develop customized plans of finance for new project construction, site acquisitions, and debt refinancing. He is skilled at helping clients convey their “credit stories” to the capital markets in order to help schools obtain the best possible interest rates and covenants available. In addition, Matt is responsible for the creation and oversight of Ziegler’s charter school research database, which has set the industry standard for statistical information pertaining to charter school finance.
Prior to joining the religion and education team, Matt spent five years working as an associate with the healthcare practice, where he provided analytical support for transactions ranging from project financings, hospital acquisitions, and derivative advisory for a variety of health systems and senior housing providers. During his time there, he developed Z-CREDIT, a proprietary credit model utilizing multivariate regression analysis to predict credit ratings based upon publicly available financial information; the model continues to be recognized as a uniquely valuable tool for healthcare systems throughout the country.
Matt is an active volunteer in his community through the Boy Scouts of America. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
