Scott Determan joined Ziegler as part of the Risk Management & Advisory team in August 2001. Scott has played an instrumental role in the structuring of over 500 interest rate management and reinvestment products including interest rate swaps, interest rate caps and collars, basis swaps, total return swaps, swaptions, escrow portfolios, forward purchase agreements, investment agreements and repurchase agreements.Scott’s involvement includes product and capital structuring, derivative pricing, product presentation and all aspects of product implementation. Other responsibilities include client asset and liability analysis, cash flow analysis and measuring risk associated with the synthetic product. He is involved with the product pricing process, documentation, transaction closings and continuing client relationships. Scott is a frequent speaker on derivative topics and their application related to tax-exempt organizations.Prior to joining Ziegler, Scott spent two years with Morningstar®. While at Morningstar, he was responsible for multi-level analysis on mutual funds, variable annuities and variable life products. Scott performed portfolio and statistical analysis that has been published in numerous Morningstar products.Scott received a B.B.A. degree in economics from the University of Iowa.
