ZIEGLER PUBLISHES FIFTH EDITION OF DIGITAL HEALTH WHITE PAPER

Deconstructing the Digital Health & AI Industry: Part V

Leveraging AI and Digital Health Solutions to Navigate our Access & Workforce Crisis

Free White Paper Highlighting the Latest Trends and Use Cases in the Digital Health & AI Industry

Ziegler’s latest white paper, “Deconstructing the Digital Health & AI Industry: Part V – Leveraging AI and Digital Health Solutions to Navigate our Access & Workforce Crisis,” highlights the latest digital health trends and use cases. Over the past decade, Ziegler has captured the evolution of digital health through a series of white papers that distill complex themes and sub-sectors into digestible placemats that all healthcare stakeholders can refer to throughout their daily healthcare journeys. These publications have been leveraged by payors, providers, patients, established digital health companies, startups, state & federal legislators, nonprofit entities, and financial sponsors as a means of better understanding:

  • The principal themes shaping the digital health market in the years when released;
  • Key tailwinds and headwinds impacting the awareness, adoption, and continued utilization of available solutions;
  • Areas where we anticipate capital flowing in the sector in the coming years to drive innovation; and
  • A snapshot of the seminal M&A and capital markets transactions that influenced digital health’s advancement since the last publication;

In 2016, we published Part I: Deconstructing the Telehealth Industry, which featured over 200 of the most innovative companies in the industry before the time when terms like “telehealth”, “virtual care”, and “digital health” pervaded the healthcare vernacular. Since then, the industry has exploded with innovation, spurred by a multi-year global pandemic that promoted widespread acceptance and adoption of technology solutions across the healthcare ecosystem. Our most recent white paper, Part IV: Health. Virtually. Everywhere,” was published in early 2023. That edition outlined the monumental technological progress in the wake of COVID-19 and highlighted 830+ digital health companies; a fourfold increase in the number of companies highlighted in 2016 and nearly double the number of companies in our 2020 white paper just three years earlier.

Our industry prognostications have been consistently validated in the 6-12 months following the release of each white paper as platforms, tools, and solutions propagate in line with our core themes. The inflows (and subsequent outflows in some cases) of capital to specific subsectors and the development of technology have only accelerated in recent years, and the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the face of healthcare as we know it today.
