Managing Director
Stephen ("Steve") Johnson is a Managing Director at Ziegler and leads the firm's Senior Living Sponsorship Transition Advisory Practice in Chicago.
Since joining Ziegler in 1999, Steve has served as senior manager or co-senior manager on more than eighty public debt offerings, helping raise over $4 billion through a wide range of capital structures. His experience in senior living has made him a trusted advisor to not-for-profit organizations across the country.
Today, Steve's primary focus is advising not-for-profit senior living providers on growth and transformation initiatives, including affiliations, mergers, joint ventures, and other strategic partnerships. He works closely with boards and executive teams to navigate complex organizational transitions and position their organizations for long-term success.
Steve earned an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in Evanston, Illinois, and a B.A. from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Steve is a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago, belongs to the President's Club of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and proudly continues the tradition of being a third-generation Chicago Cubs fan.
