Ziegler Meditech Equity Partners, LP (ZMEP) is a joint venture between Ziegler and Meditech Advisors, an Israel based healthcare consultancy formed to invest primarily in mid-to late-stage companies, which are engaged in the development, marketing or use of medical devices. ZMEP invested globally, drawing on the years of investing experience of its management team, and is currently harvesting its outstanding investments.

G.I. View is a developer of a new generation colonoscope, the Aer-O-Scope™, which aims to provide enhanced patient comfort, together with more extensive imaging of the colon wall. The device is in its development stage. In the second quarter of 2022, the Fund closed the sale of its holdings in G.I. View to other internal investors.

OrthoSensor is a developer of sophisticated sensor technology for the orthopedic market. The technology under development is designed to assist orthopedic surgeons intra-operatively to improve the positioning of implants. In addition, the technology under development could also be utilized in the future to monitor the long-term integrity of implanted orthopedic devices and to monitor the progression of osteoporosis in patients. During the fourth quarter of 2020 Stryker purchased Orthosensor in a cash deal.

Aposense, Ltd. (fka NeuroSurvival Technologies, Ltd.) has developed a series of molecules that selectively target and accumulate within dying, or apoptotic cells. The molecules, which use the trade name Aposense, can carry a therapeutic compound to the site of cancer cells. The company is seeking regulatory approval for its first commercial application of its therapeutic agent and has additional compounds under development.

MAKO Surgical Corp. is an orthopedic medical device company developing advanced solutions for minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, utilizing the robotically assisted RIO™ Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System. This technology allows orthopedic surgeons to provide significant patient benefits by reducing pain and recovery time while consistently improving patient outcomes over current methods of knee and hip replacements. Mako Surgical was acquired by Stryker (NYSE: SYK) in 2013.

MobileAccess is a healthcare IT enterprise wireless innovator that provides platforms designed to integrate wireless systems on a common infrastructure for buildings such as hospitals and manufacturing facilities. Mobile Access was acquired by Corning in 2011.

ONI Medical Systems, Inc. developed a compact MRI system for the medical imaging of extremities. Substantially all of the operating assets of the company were sold to GE Healthcare in the fourth quarter of 2009. The assets of ONI Medical Systems were acquired by GE Healthcare in 2009.

Ovalum Vascular, Ltd. (Ovalum) developed a vascular interventional guidewire for use in crossing difficult and chronic total occlusions in peripheral and coronary arteries. Ovalum’s principal product, the Voletek GuidewireTM, has been approved for use in peripheral arteries in both the U.S. and Europe. The Fund exited its investment in Ovalum in 2014.
